Nine year old Alyssa Hemmelgarn’s life was tragically cut short ten days after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoma Leukemia (A.L.L.). Alyssa was fun-loving, with an effortless smile and an infectious laugh, who had a passion for reading. To honor Alyssa’s life, her family has created a foundation which supports her passion for reading and her compassion for others and is working to get reading books into the hands of children who might not otherwise have access to them in their homes. Donations received will go to the purchase and distribution of reading books to under-served elementary age children in Colorado.
